Who can I send BRL to?

You can send BRL to bank accounts in Brazil. 

What information do I need about my recipient?

• Recipient's full name

• IBAN
• BIC / SWIFT
• Bank name
• Bank address
• Bank account type
• Bank branch number
• Recipient's email address
• Recipient's tax ID: CNPJ for corporates (14 digits), CPF for individuals (11 digits)

How can I pay for my BRL money transfer?

Depending on where you're sending money from, you can pay with debit card, credit card, a direct debit (ACH) or bank transfer. Learn more about available payment methods.

Sending more than 15,000 BRL a day

Regulations in Brazil require beneficiaries to register with the local FX provider to process inbound BRL payments. 

We partner with Bank of America to facilitate BRL transfers over 15,000 BRL a day. Bank of America Merrill Lynch has partnered with StoneX Financial Ltd (SFL) to simplify BRL money transfers. 

StoneX Financial Ltd (SFL) will work directly with your recipient to facilitate the registration process and establish the required Cadastro (beneficiary registration) on their behalf.

How does the beneficiary registration process work?

When you send more than 15,000 BRL a day, we send USD to Bank of America, who in turn send USD to StoneX Financial Ltd. Stonex Financial Ltd convert the USD to BRL.

Before your recipient can be credited with the funds, they will need to complete the registration process facilitated by StoneX Financial Ltd by providing all requested documents. 

The documentation your recipient provides will be reviewed by StoneX Financial Ltd and the Brazilian Central Bank (BCB).

What does this mean for my recipient? 

If you're sending more than 15,000 BRL a day, StoneX Financial Ltd (SFL) will contact your beneficiary directly and ask them to provide information to complete the registration process. 

This might include basic 'know your customer' (KYC) information (including local tax forms), plus additional documents to support the purpose of payment (POP) - the economic reason for sending the payment. All documents should be provided by your recipient. 

What do I need to do?

Your recipient will need to provide the information that StoneX Financial Ltd request in order for your transfer to be completed. Please let your recipient know that StoneX Financial Ltd will contact them to request additional documents so that they can receive BRL from abroad.

How long do transfers BRL transfers take?

You should expect BRL transfers to take longer than usual, particularly if you're sending more than 15,000 BRL.

Due to the fact that your recipient may need to provide additional documentation, and because the funds need to route via an onshore provider (StoneX Financial Ltd), you should allow as much time as possible for BRL transfers to reach your recipient.
